Contract for Purchase

First fill out our questionnaire and once you are approved we will contact you by either phone or email.

A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the price of the dog is required to hold an animal.

Deposits on Unborn Litters:

This is very important so read carefully. This is taken from paragraph 9 of the contract:

A $250 deposit is required to hold a puppy for an up-coming (un-born) litter. Once a buyer picks a puppy they are to pay half of the selling price of that puppy to hold it for one week when the full balance is to be paid. If the balance is not paid in one week the puppy may be sold to another buyer. The breeder will also continue to send out pictures of the puppy during this time.

Although the deposit is non-refundable it may be transferred to another puppy for up to two litters or a year's time. At this time the deposit will be null and voided and no other puppy will be held for the buyer in this contract. Once the balance has been paid in full the puppy will be held up to one month while shipping arrangements are made. After this month period the puppy may still be sold to someone else if all charges have not been paid in full (i.e. shipping charges).

It's important to understand this because we cannot and will not hold an animal forever. The more they age the more increasingly difficult it becomes to find them a home, thus putting the puppy's own welfare at risk.

The following is our Corgi Haven puppy contract. We are currently revising our older Corgi & Rescue contract and will be posting it soon. Until then, please e-mail us if you're interested in an older Corgi. This copy of our contract is viewable only. Do not print/mail/copy &paste this contract.

1. The buyer binds him/herself to take good and reasonable care of the puppy. The buyer also guarantees at no time in this puppy’s life will it be used to fight other animals or be used for medical experiments unless the testing is to further the puppies life.

2. The buyer is buying the said animal as a pet. They will receive AKC registration forms once the puppy as been either spayed or neutered. Being that the puppy is being sold as a pet the buyer can still enter the animal into herding and agility events. The buyer agrees to send breeder copies of any achievements won by the puppy (so that they may be used in our future advertising). The breeder does not warranty the ability of any animal as this has to do mostly with training, not breeding. If the buyer breeds the animal there will be a $5,000 fine. If the buyer decides they wish to breed this animal they will be given the right to do so at an additional cost which is $___________. However breeding is not warranted. Female Corgis should not be bred before 2 years of age and only once a vet says they are healthy enough for breeding. Males should not be breed until 1 year of age. However the buyer must make this decision before the puppy turns 5 and a half months old. AKC may not register an animal under no condition after one year of age. (Registration is more costly after 6 months of age.) The buyer agrees that if there should be the need for a court case to have any or all court cases settled in the breeders county which is Scioto of the state of Ohio or whichever county and state the breeder lives in at the time.

3. Once getting the puppy the buyer has (2) days to have the puppy checked by the vet they supplied the breeder with. To get a statement that the puppy was received in good health and to get care stated where the buyer lives and to talk about when the puppy will need their next shot ALL vet records need to be kept as well as receipt until after the warranty period is up.

Please sign the following:

____________ The buyer understands that from the date of purchase they are from then on    responsible for all vet care. If a genetic issue comes up during the warranty period the breeder will refund vet expense up to the purchase price of the puppy. The buyer must take the puppy to up to three different vets and only when there are two agreeing diagnosis will money be refunded.

____________ The diagnosis must be due to breeding. In the event that the puppy dies during the warranty period of 30 months from the date of birth the buyer will have to have an autopsy performed by a licensed vet with result showing the death was the fault of the breeder’s and not something else.

____________ The buyer will pay the vet bills if a death of the puppy is found to be the fault of the breeder. The breeder will refund the buyer's money and let them pick another puppy from a different blood line with the new puppy being of the same sex.

4. The breeder will make room to take any puppy back for 30 days from the sale date for whatever reason; however, if the return is not the breeder’s fault then the buyer will only get a refund after the puppy has found a new home. The refund may not be their full purchase price and if the puppy is returned to the breeder in poor health there may not be a refund at all. This will be determined by whether or not there was vet attention required and how long it takes the breeder to find the puppy a new home. After 30 days the breeder may not have room to take a puppy back. Therefore, the buyer is required to call as soon as they think there might be a need to return the puppy to the breeder. Re-turn shipping, if there is any, is the responsibility of the buyer.

5. Buyer will train the puppy to be a well behaved animal his or herself or take the puppy to classes. If a puppy is returned older than 4 months and is found not to have been trained, the breeder is expected to pay for puppy classes and/or train the puppy him/herself which will come out of the buyer’s purchase price. To prove that the buyer is doing some kind of training they must either send us copy of a certificate where the puppy finished a training class or email us with what the buyer has taught the puppy.

6. Being that we warranty our puppies until they are 30 months of age for genetic/breeding health issues we don’t want them eating just anything & we request that all puppies are fed Purina large breed puppy food and that the buyer keep some type of proof that this is the brand that they bought (such proof can be bar codes from each bag; store receipt stating this is the brand that was bought; a vet record stating that every time they took the puppy for regular care they told the vet and they noted it in the chart that that is what was being fed to the puppy). If there is no proof this warranty will be null and void.

7. The buyer will provide reasonable outside shelter for animal to where they can get daily exercise.

8. The buyer will keep up with all routine health care and knows that they are reasonable for this cost as well as any on going monthly routine medicine. If the puppy is found to have a genetic health problem and the buyer wishes to keep the puppy the breeder will refund the buyer's purchase price and the breeder will no longer be responsible for further vet bills. If the puppy develops any health condition ever in life the buyer will notify the breeder especially during the warranty period.
